How we started
Whats Up Cupcake? was opened by Sarah in a whirlwind in June 2009...following a trial weekend at a hut in the Whitstable Harbour Village that was a huge success... Sarah and her Mum Sue thought they would have a look around Harbour Street to perhaps make a plan to open a shop the following year, when they saw a dark blue house front with curtains drawn and a crack in the window....Sarah marched across to Franks next door got the owners number and 2 weeks later was open for business in a pastel green shop front called 'Whats Up Cupcake?' Three years on we haven't looked back! "Its been incredibly hard work but we have all loved every high and low".
Sarah has had the back up of her amazing team, her Mum Sue, Auntie Hills, Aunt Jayne, Cousin Claire & Best Friends Clare & Nicola.
All cupcakes were once baked in Sarah's parents Annex that she turned lovingly into her bakery, but following renovations behind the shop in January 2012, the Cupcake Bakery is now on site, so all baking & icing & decorating is done at the Shop @ 64 Harbour Street...so come down for a wiff! It smells incredible!
Sarahs mission is to create delicious cupcakes, using simple high quality ingredients, completely free from anything artificial, 100% natural and fresh. Hoping people won't just love how they look, but how they taste too, and so come back for more time and time again! Quite simply...

The Story Goes On...
After an amazing 4 years in the little green shop - Sarah decided it was time to hang up her apron and concentrate on all things 'old, new, borrowed and blue' with wedding planning, family time and new adventures...
Before she moved on, Sarah wanted to leave Whats Up CupCake? in capable hands - which is where Tracey comes in. Tracey has 11 years of baking and catering experience so fit the apron perfectly! After a hectic few months of being trained by Sarah, Tracey took over the shop on Sunday 1st September and hasn't looked back since. The only thing that is different is the introduction of some new flavours, cake pops and cakes to order for every occasion. Working alongside Tracey is her future daughter-in-law, Tor, whose creative talents have no end - from bespoke roses and teddy bears to sheds and baby booties..almost anything is possible! With Tor by her side, they make a fantastic team - so why not come along and taste for yourself!

Another Chapter Of The Story...
After 15 incredible months being Whats Up CupCake's exquisite baker Tracey felt as though it was time to hang up her apron and concentrate more on her other business, but she needed someone to take her place - which is where Fiona comes in.
With 10 years of catering experience under her belt and 7 years running Tower Hill Tea Gardens Tracey felt it was Fiona's turn to put on the apron. After being trained by Tracey on how things work, Fiona took over Whats Up CupCake? on January 1st 2015. After being a frequent member of the cupcake shop herslef her and her daughter began the journey. Not much has changed, only the introduction of the odd, more traditional cake and the expansion of Neets Treats.
Fiona has the back up of her excellent team, her daughter Olivia, her Aunty Tessa and family friend Yasmin. With this team anything is possible and with Tor on hand to help with the occassional In the Night Garden cake all your needs will be cateered for.
